FocusRemote connects directly to your existing MagicQ system. No OSC macros required for the core focus workflow.
01 / THE WORKFLOW
You know your show. You know your fixtures.
FocusRemote keeps control close at hand.
With Remote on, select a Position. It recalls immediately, so you can adjust an existing position and save with Update.
SELECT POSITION → AUTO RECALLAfter Recall, reselect your group and press Start Focus. Adjust Pan/Tilt, use Fine or Fast and step through the actual head order.
GROUP → START FOCUS → ADJUSTPress Update after adjusting. It stays locked until Recall has been sent successfully. Check the target and any confirmation on MagicQ before continuing.
UPDATE → CHECK MAGICQUpdate follows MagicQ’s active update targets. Selecting a Position sends Recall automatically. Update stays locked until a Recall command succeeds; Clear or changing the connection locks it again. Always check the actual target on MagicQ. No separate macro per position is needed. Read the Position workflow →
Left stick — horizontal movement controls Pan; vertical movement controls Tilt. Axis inversion and response are adjustable in the app.
Select a control to explore. Illustration only — no MagicQ commands are sent.
02 / IN YOUR HANDS
Hands-on control that fits the job. Adjustable deadzones and movement speeds let you make the response your own.
Joystick movement only begins after Start Focus, with Remote enabled.
The graphical controller view shows live buttons and sticks. Press a button to identify it, then choose its action.
BUILT AROUND YOUR SESSION
Less searching through settings.
More control where you need it.
Use the right stick for Focus and Zoom. On-screen beam controls also offer Iris and Frost, where supported by your fixture.
Start with Classic, Focus & Update or Left-handed. Remap buttons and stick axes, reverse directions and save named custom presets in the app.
Choose Direct IP or Broadcast and your network adapter. Review changes before applying them. Separate status indicators show command output, groups and Positions. Start Focus checks the selected-group list format again before movement is enabled.
Large head numbers, local head-order progress and clear Remote status use the space on larger displays. Live stick previews sit at the lower right when space allows; handhelds keep compact controls.
03 / YOUR SETUP
Available now for Windows PCs and handhelds, including the MSI Claw. macOS and Linux builds are targeted for later this month.
A compatible gamepad and a network connection to MagicQ are required. The compact layout adapts to desktop and handheld screens, including Steam Deck-sized displays. SteamOS builds are not currently available. Hardware compatibility depends on Windows recognising your controller.

No. FocusRemote is a product by 4on, developed independently for use with MagicQ. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by ChamSys. MagicQ and ChamSys belong to their respective owners.
Open the customer portal to sign in, purchase a license and access the builds available to your account. FocusRemote is currently available for Windows. macOS and Linux builds are targeted for later this month.
Internet is required to sign in and activate a license. FocusRemote checks the activation status at startup and periodically when internet is available. If a license is deactivated from the portal, the app applies that change at its next online check. If the server cannot be reached, a previously verified signed activation remains usable offline. A local network connection to MagicQ is still required.
A FocusRemote v1 license costs €50 excl. VAT as a one-time purchase, with up to two active devices and no subscription. Sign in and activate your device before enabling Remote. You can manage your activations in the customer portal.
